Every scientific research comes with a guess work. Close observation, experimentation and finally to be propounded into theory. Scientists in their curious research of finding answers to every natural wonder tell us statements of fact. They agree that algae mixed with plants decayed over several ages to finally produce crude oil. Commonly called black gold, oil has been the driver of the industrialization feats of the 20th century and will significantly oil the wheels of the future. The green energy campaigners can never deny that oil still has a rightful place in meeting the energy demands of the future.
It is quizzical to understand how oil producing locations randomly dotted the global landscape. It has come sparsely in regions such as the Middle East, gulf of West Africa, coastal South America, Alaska, Texas, Russia and so on. Countries who have found oil in their territories can only thank their stars because it never flows across surfaces to predict its presence. The decaying algae never found a place in the huge populations of India and China. We could amusingly assume that both countries in ancient ages made algae their staple food, so it never decayed in the marshes.
I had suspect there seems to be venom and anger in the algae as they wilted into the ground and gradually shrinking into the golden liquid. I predict they rained curses and vitriol on the inhabitants of the land and future generations who profiteered from their end product (crude oil). It has taken serious spiritual cleansing in Saudi Arabia or in statue of Jesus in Brazil or other spiritual exercises to nullify the invectives of the decayed alga.
A survey of oil producing states across the world never seems to contradict these supposed fantasies of mine. Being a science student for years, I believe my guesswork of algae curses deserves a global patent as archaeologists sooner will agree with the possibilities of this fact. If not, why will oil as a global commodity generate massive revenue for its producing countries but it usually provides negative results that either comes as external aggression, reactionary government or tools of internal oppression.
The Middle East which seats on a mass of crude oil has never been in news for the right reasons. Every second, the international media update us with horrid scenes of these o of suicide bombing, human rights violation, catastrophe, internal wars, ethnic segregation in these oil communities. Their news never envelope tales of development and progress but with gory sights which viewers discretion are usually advised. Oil remains the underlying reason why American bomb the Iraq and Iran become a belligerent country amassing nuclear weapon for needless reason. The politics of oil is so secretive and Byzantine as countries even with reactionaries and imperialist government find bedfellows easily in every part of the globe..
Russia annexation of South Ossetia and war with Georgia has an undertone of oil. Venezuela president with his communist stance ensuring an eternal rules by rewriting the rules for unlimited term. Burma with reserves of oil is led by despots and hardliners who trample on human rights. Angola after years of brutal wars, they finally aggregated thoughts to find peace. Nigeria is another curious example of how oil revenue has created differential classes as politicians and their cronies incurably siphon the oil proceeds for personal use. In tandem with my proposition, the top economies in the world of US, Germany, Japan, India, UK, China, Britain, Canada and Italy are net importers of oil. Brazil another massive oil producer has found a substitute in ethanol and took
courageous steeps to reduce the carbon footprint of oil.
Where oil has found peace, they are owned by a cabal usually founded by Oil /Arab sheiks and despots who usually share the crumbs to the public or illegally stash them in Swiss banks. Oil can gradually turn into tools of oppression, ethnic insurgency, guns control as every clan ,community or group of people try to control it. Nigeria presents an amusing case..................
